PrimeTime Pats blow past Hastings

COLUMBUS – Blake Headley was a one-man wrecking crew on Monday night, as the PrimeTime Pats eliminated Hastings via a 14-2 seven-inning victory in the 2010 Nebraska State American Legion baseball tournament.

Headley’s domination started on the mound, as he went the distance for the Patriots, allowing just eight base runners in seven innings. Headley struck out three, walked just one, and limited Hastings to four hits.

Headley also contributed offensively, smashing a three-run home run in the fifth inning, which pushed the lead out to ten runs, allowing for the early conclusion to the contest.

Headley’s teammates provided plenty of support, as PrimeTime mashed 16 hits in the contest, giving them a total of 55 in four games. Each Patriot starter had at least one hit and scored at least one run in the game. Eight of the nine starting Patriots also drove in a run during the game.

PrimeTime will advance to take on the winner of tonight’s Lincoln Pinnacle Bank/Associated Fire game tomorrow at 5 PM. Hastings, meanwhile, finishes their season at 22-30.
